Courses of the World: Tenerife is one of the Canary Islands, part of a string of Spanish atolls off the coast of Africa. This fall, Tenerife is where German engineering meets Spanish hospitality. The Dave Thomas-designed course at Abama Resort, a 6,489-yard layout littered with 200 species of plants and water in myriad forms (i.e. manmade lakes, streams, waterfalls, and the Atlantic Ocean) will host the world final of the 2008 Audi Quattro Cup. The tournament, established in 1991, has taken place at a bevy of exotic courses including Los Olivos in Argentina and the Eldorado in Cabo San Lucas. Tee 2.0
Epoch’s sustainable, hard-nosed, high-tech peg

It The average golfer uses 6.75 wooden tees during an 18-hole round. If you’re lucky enough to play every two weeks, that’s 175 tees a year. You see where this is going. Evolve Golf keeps more tees — and money — in your pocket with Epoch, the sustainable performance golf tee. The peg, made from recycled and renewable materials, not only lasts ten times longer than a wood tee but add yards to your drives as well. The top employs radius posts that span the width of a golf ball dimple, thereby reducing friction at impact and adding distance. And the pros have taken notice: since Epoch’s debut in 2004, it has been part of 27 PGA Tour wins. For more information, please visit www.evolvegolf.com.
